Mendoza Travel
Here are some of my favorite places to eat, see and sleep in Argentina, as well as Argentinean restaurants and Latin Markets I’ve been to on my travels. This list includes links to posts written about them and websites when available. None of the businesses listed have solicited my recommendation.
Please email me with things you’d like to add to this page, or leave a comment and share your experiences! Buen viaje!

REBECCA’S ARGENTINA RECOMMENDS
STAY:
Argentino Hotel, Mendoza–Centrally located across the street from Plaza Independencia, the Argentino offers location at a fraction of the cost of the nearby Hyatt. Though the decor is unfussy and simple, rooms are clean and equipped with bidet, shower/bath, and fridge, phone and cable TV. Continental breakfast in a salon with scenic view of the plaza, free internet, and outdoor patio with pool (complete with Rousseau-esque jungle wall mural). www.argentino-hotel.com
Aconcagua, Mendoza–Located centrally near the Plaza Italia, this several story hotel puts you right in the center of the downtown action, and gives access to Mendoza’s best activities. Stay on on of the higher levels of the hotel for more luxurious rooms. Continental breakfast, pretty enclosed courtyard connects to modern restaurant serving dinner. www.hotelaconcagua.com
Cavas Wine Lodge, Mendoza–Okay, I’m going to ‘fess up right now and admit that I’ve never stayed at Cavas. But if I were a jet-setting celeb going to Mendoza, for, say, my honeymoon, you can bet I’d book a room right there. It’s nestled between a couple of the bigger wineries off the Ruta 7, on 35 acres of vineyard with a view of the Andes. It’s a true escape–each of the rooms are 970 sq. ft.–your own, private, luxury lodge with fireplace, private pool and private terrace. Check out their website when you need a five-minute fantasy to break up the work-week! www.cavaswinelodge.com
Finca Adalgisa, Mendoza–Gabriela Furlotti has taken her family’s turn-of the century vineyard estate and converted it into a boutique hotel. Guests are welcomed to the manor house, which had been updated to include all the modern comforts, as if it was their own home. Furlotti doesn’t forget a detail–guests are welcomed with a bottle of the wine produced right there on the estate, a lounge provides reading and event a quiet game of Scrabble, and family antiques are side-by-side with modern accoutrements. www.fincaadalgisa.com.ar

Oh what lovely descriptions! I love to hear of places to stay in from people and not from brochures- it gives you a whole different feel of the place when you get there
